Believing is Believing

This section of John 5 tells us a lot about what it means to hear and believe God. God has given many witnesses in many ways and throughout the ages of time. We find in this passage that many will say, “I know God” and they will find a way to convince themselves they are right with God. In this chapter, these people are now face to face with the witnesses God has sent, and they find themselves believing in something other than the One God sent to save. They have to now repent and believe in Jesus or continue in unbelief. Jesus explains that God has been reaching out for ages, but because those who reject Him are unwilling to come to Him, they remain in their unbelief and do not have life.
